PHOENIX, Ariz. - In a shocking turn of events, 20-year-old Lorenzo Dale Flores, a member of the Gila River Indian Community, was sentenced to a staggering 168 months in prison for his role in a brutal murder.

On May 26, 2014, Flores unleashed a hail of bullets on the victim outside a home in Bapchule, Ariz., leaving the community reeling in shock.

The victim, unfortunately, did not survive the attack, and Flores' actions have left a trail of devastation in their wake.

Flores pleaded guilty to second degree murder on Oct. 14, 2014, and was subsequently sentenced by U.S. District Judge John J. Tuchi on Feb. 9, 2015.

The investigation into this heinous crime was led by the Gila River Police Department, with the prosecution handled by Raynette Logan, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Phoenix.

Flores' sentencing is a stark reminder of the consequences of violent crime and the importance of justice being served.
