FARGO - A senseless collision claimed the life of Andrew Greywater on October 12, 2012, when Louis John Dunn, 36, drove under the influence of alcohol and struck his vehicle head-on on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation.

On May 29, 2013, Dunn was sentenced to three years and five months' imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release by U.S. District Judge Ralph R. Erickson. Dunn's reckless decision behind the wheel has now cost him his freedom.

The collision, which occurred on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation, claimed the life of Andrew Greywater, leaving behind a family and friends to grapple with the devastating loss.

According to court documents, Dunn pleaded guilty to the charge of involuntary manslaughter on March 6, 2013. Dunn was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Crime Victim's Fund. Restitution will be determined at a later date.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Assistant U.S. Attorney Janice M. Morley prosecuted the case.
