Felon Sentenced to 7 Years in Prison for Unlawful Possession of Firearms

In a move aimed at reducing gun violence in the region, Lucas Adam Wade Hall, 32, of Hutchinson, Kansas, was sentenced to seven years in federal prison for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, U.S. Attorney Stephan McAllister said.

According to court documents, Hall was arrested with multiple firearms, including a Taurus 9 mm pistol, a Beretta 9 mm pistol, and a Smith & Wesson .44 caliber revolver.

The arrest stems from a long history of Hall's run-ins with the law. In April 2011, he was convicted in Reno County District Court of attempted kidnapping, aggravated intimidation of a witness, and aggravated battery. He was later convicted in September 2014 of aggravated assault in the same county.

The case was prosecuted as part of the Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative, which targets armed offenders with a record of felony convictions. U.S. Attorney Stephan McAllister commended the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Assistant U.S. Attorney Greg Hough for their work on the case.

Lucas Adam Wade Hall's sentencing is a significant step towards reducing gun violence in our communities. His conviction serves as a reminder that those who possess firearms illegally will be held accountable for their actions.

The sentence was handed down on an unspecified date in 2023. Hall's prior convictions and the nature of his crimes demonstrate a pattern of violent behavior that makes him a danger to society.

As part of his sentence, Hall will serve seven years in federal prison. The sentence reflects the seriousness of his crimes and the need to protect the public from individuals who pose a threat to their safety.
