Luis Galvan-Borbolla, Methamphetamine Conspiracy, Nebraska 2021

A massive methamphetamine conspiracy has been brought to justice in Omaha, Nebraska, with the sentencing of a key player.

Luis Galvan-Borbolla, 37, of Mexico, was sentenced in federal court on May 17, 2021, to 180 months for distribution of 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.

This severe sentence comes after Galvan-Borbolla's involvement in the distribution of a large quantity of methamphetamine was uncovered by special agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) on June 25, 2020.

According to court documents, Galvan-Borbolla was in possession of $10,733 and a 9mm rifle when he arrived at the Element Hotel in Omaha, where he was supposed to meet Ignacio Palma to receive the methamphetamine.

Palma, who had been followed by DEA agents from his residence, was confronted at the hotel and found to be in possession of 5 pounds of methamphetamine.

Galvan-Borbolla's sentence also includes a five-year term of supervised release, with no parole available in the federal system.

This case was investigated by the DEA, Omaha Police Department, and the Nebraska State Patrol.

Palma has pleaded guilty to the methamphetamine conspiracy and is scheduled to be sentenced on June 14, 2021, in Omaha, Nebraska.
