Luis Rosado, Possessing A Firearm, Florida 2023
Orlando, Florida - In a shocking turn of events, Luis Rosado, a 28-year-old Winter Park resident, has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The indictment, returned on August 20, 2023, alleges that Rosado possessed a Taurus pistol, a Radical Firearms rifle, a Silver Eagle shotgun, and Sellier & Bellot and Norma ammunition.
As a 19-time convicted felon, Rosado is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition under federal law. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in federal prison.
The indictment also notifies Rosado that the United States intends to forfeit the aforementioned firearm and ammunition, which is alleged to be involved in the offense.
An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty.
This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Orlando Police Department. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michael Sartoian.
