Federal Inmate Charged with Possession of a Weapon in Prison

In a shocking turn of events, federal authorities have indicted a prison inmate for possession of a prohibited object. Marco Deputy, 30, of Frederick, Maryland, was charged with possessing a sharpened aluminum weapon while incarcerated at the Schuylkill Federal Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania.

The indictment alleges that on December 2, 2024, Deputy, a resident of Frederick, Maryland, illegally possessed the prohibited object. According to sources, the object in question was a sharpened aluminum weapon.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah R. Lloyd is prosecuting the case.

The maximum penalty under federal law for this offense is five years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine. A sentence following a finding of guilt is imposed by the Judge after consideration of the applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
