Pittsburgh Resident Pleads Guilty to Firearms Charge

A Pittsburgh man has pleaded guilty to a charge of violating federal firearms laws, following an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.

Marcus Smith, 23, pleaded guilty to one count of knowingly and unlawfully possessing a Glock 9mm pistol with an extended magazine and ammunition on February 2, 2017. This is a serious offense, as federal law prohibits anyone with a prior felony conviction from possessing a firearm or ammunition.

Smith's prior felony convictions are a crucial factor in this case. His plea agreement highlights the importance of holding individuals accountable for their past mistakes and ensuring public safety.
