Marquis Hayes Henderson, Armed Robbery, Maryland 2022

Baltimore, Maryland – A prince George’s County man has been sentenced to federal prison for his role in an armed robbery that took place in 2022. Marquis Hayes Henderson, 24, of Laurel, Maryland, was sentenced to seven years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release for robbery and use of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.

According to the guilty plea, Henderson and four other co-conspirators met on April 29, 2022 at a Clinton-Maryland storage lot before driving a stolen vehicle to a nearby convenience store. Henderson brought and pointed a firearm at an employee outside of the store before ordering the worker to go inside and lay down in one of the aisles.

Meanwhile, another co-conspirator entered the store with a power tool and broke open the store’s ATM. The second co-conspirator worked with a third co-conspirator to take $35,020 in cash from the ATM. The trio joined the other two co-conspirators who were waiting in the stolen vehicle before fleeing.

The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence, and to make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.

U.S. Attorney Erek L. Barron commended the FBI and Prince George’s County Police Department for their work in the investigation. Mr. Barron also thanked Assistant U.S. Attorneys Joshua A. Rosenthal and William D. Moomau who prosecuted the case.
