Marvin Lee Enos, Assault with Intent to Commit Kidnapping, Arizona 2021

Published June 11, 2021

Marvin Lee Enos, a Tohono O'odham man, has earned a lengthy prison sentence for a heinous crime on his own turf. Enos, who resides in Tucson, Arizona, was recently convicted of assault with intent to commit kidnapping.

On April 2, 2018, Enos brutally assaulted the victim by punching them in the head and stomach areas. The defendant physically moved the victim from one area of his house to another, while simultaneously restricting their freedom by preventing them from leaving the house.

The assault was a brazen display of Enos's disregard for human life and the rights of others. As an enrolled member of the Tohono O'odham Nation, Enos should have been a leader and a role model within his community. Instead, he chose to engage in violent behavior that put his victims in harm's way.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Tohono O'odham Police Department conducted a thorough investigation into Enos's crimes. Assistant U.S. Attorney Raquel Arellano, District of Arizona, Tucson, handled the prosecution of Enos.

On Wednesday, Marvin Lee Enos was sentenced by U.S. District Judge James A. Soto to 102 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. Enos pleaded guilty to assault with intent to commit kidnapping.

Enos's crimes have sent shockwaves throughout the Tohono O'odham Nation and the surrounding community. His lengthy prison sentence is a testament to the severity of his crimes and serves as a warning to others who would engage in similar behavior.
