Michael Bailey, Methamphetamine Distribution, West Virginia 2024

Beckley, WV - In a shocking turn of events, Michael Bailey, 37, of Beckley, has been sentenced to one year and 11 months in prison for distributing a large quantity of methamphetamine in the city.

According to court documents and statements made in court, on August 22, 2024, Bailey sold approximately 57 grams of methamphetamine in exchange for $480 to a confidential informant in Beckley.

The Beckley/Raleigh County Drug and Violent Crime Unit, consisting of officers from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the West Virginia State Police, the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, and the Beckley Police Department, conducted an investigation that led to Bailey's arrest.

United States Attorney Moore Capito commended the investigative work of the Beckley/Raleigh County Drug and Violent Crime Unit, stating that their efforts have made a significant impact in keeping the community safe from drugs.

Chief United States District Judge Frank W. Volk imposed the sentence, which will be followed by three years of supervised release.

Assistant United States Attorney Brian D. Parsons prosecuted the case, bringing Bailey to justice for his crimes.
