Michael Barron, Damaging Reproductive Health Services, Illinois 2021
A federal charge has been filed against a man for allegedly damaging a reproductive health services facility in Chicago.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, MICHAEL BARRON, 41, of Chicago, is charged with intentionally damaging a Planned Parenthood Health Center on June 5, 2021.
The charge accuses Barron of damaging the facility because it provided reproductive health services.
The charge was announced by John R. Lausch, Jr., United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois; Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke; Ashley T. Johnson, Acting Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago Field Office of the FBI; and LaDon Reynolds, United States Marshal for the Northern District of Illinois.
The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Sivashree Sundaram and Paige Nutini.
The public is reminded that a criminal information is not evidence of guilt. The defendant is presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial at which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
The charge against Barron is punishable by a maximum sentence of one year in federal prison. Arraignment in federal court in Chicago has not yet been scheduled.
