Michael Bobowski, Meth Distribution, Connecticut 2018

A notorious meth dealer has been brought to justice in Connecticut. Michael Bobowski, 45, of Hartford, was sentenced to 32 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for distributing d-methamphetamine hydrochloride, also known as 'meth,' 'ice,' and other street names.

According to court documents and statements made in court, in August and September 2018, investigators conducted two controlled purchases of methamphetamine from Bobowski at his former residence in Hartford. The investigation revealed that, between May and October 2018, Bobowski conspired to distribute between 100 and 150 grams of d-methamphetamine hydrochloride.

The investigation further revealed that on October 4, 2018, Bobowski was arrested on a federal criminal complaint. A search of his residence on the date of his arrest revealed approximately 106 grams of ice and more than $3,000 in cash.

On December 20, 2018, Bobowski pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, 50 grams or more of d-methamphetamine hydrochloride. Bobowski is currently released on a $100,000 bond and is required to report to prison on December 16, 2020.

This matter was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration's New Haven Task Force, Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation Division, and Middletown Police Department, with the assistance of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer R. Laraia.

Bobowski's sentencing is a significant blow to the meth trade in Connecticut. His arrest and sentencing demonstrate the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies in combating the distribution of illicit substances.
