Michael D. Cole, Methamphetamine Conspiracy, Illinois 2013

Four residents of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, have been hit with methamphetamine related charges, according to a recent indictment. Michael D. Cole, 53, Shelly R. Myogeto, 35, Julia A. Snow, 51, and Gregory S. Minor, 33, all have been charged with conspiring to manufacture methamphetamine, as well as other related offenses.

According to the indictment, all four defendants were charged in Count 1, which alleges that they conspired to knowingly and intentionally manufacture more than 50 grams of methamphetamine from June 2010 until September 19, 2012, in Jefferson County.

Each defendant faces up to 40 years imprisonment, a fine of up to $5,000,000, and no less than 4 years supervised release to follow incarceration. The charges also include additional counts of possession of pseudoephedrine, distribution of methamphetamine, and possession of pseudoephedrine with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine.

Michael D. Cole, 53, faces up to 20 years imprisonment, a fine of up to $250,000, and no more than 3 years supervised release for Count 2, which alleges that he possessed pseudoephedrine with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine from April 4, 2010, to August 8, 2012.

Shelly R. Myogeto, 35, faces up to 20 years imprisonment, a fine of up to $1,000,000, and no less than 3 years supervised release for Count 4, which alleges that she distributed methamphetamine on June 29, 2012.

Gregory S. Minor, 33, and Julia A. Snow, 51, face up to 20 years imprisonment, a fine of up to $250,000, and no more than 3 years supervised release for Counts 5 and 6, which allege that they possessed pseudoephedrine with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine from June 15, 2010, to February 20, 2013, and from July 15, 2010, to December 22, 2012, respectively.

The investigation was conducted by the Joint Narcotics Unit of the Mt. Vernon Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. The case is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney George Norwood.
