Spencerport Man Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Charge in Federal Court

A federal judge in Rochester, New York, has accepted the guilty plea of Michael Greco, 25, of Spencerport, New York, on charges of attempted receipt of child pornography. The crime dates back to January 2020, when Greco engaged in online conversations with an undercover investigator posing as a mother offering her 13-year-old daughter for prostitution.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle Rossi, Greco agreed to pay $100 for sex with the child, and on January 7, 2020, he traveled to a pre-arranged destination to meet the child, only to be arrested by New York State Police and Homeland Security Investigations. The defendant was found in possession of $100, condoms, and candy for the child, as well as a cell phone containing child pornography.

The investigation was led by the New York State Police Troop E Major Crimes Unit and Homeland Security Investigations.

Greco faces a minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum penalty of 20 years, lifetime supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing is scheduled for April 13, 2021, at 9:15 a.m. before Judge Charles J. Siragusa.
