Michael L. Johnson, Federal Drug and Gun Crimes, Alabama 2023
Montgomery, Ala. - On June 22, 2023, Michael L. Johnson, 44, of Columbus, Ohio, was sentenced to 84 months in prison for federal drug and gun crimes, announced United States Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama, source.
Johnson was convicted of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Johnson was arrested on June 16, 2022 by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Montgomery Police Department after a traffic stop in Montgomery. A search of the vehicle revealed a large quantity of methamphetamine and a handgun.
Johnson's sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Emily C. Marks.
