A Bronx man has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for sex trafficking a minor victim.

MICHAEL PASCHAL, 53, of the Bronx, New York, was sentenced to 11 years in prison by U.S. District Judge Vernon S. Broderick for sex trafficking Minor Victim-1.

Paschal trafficked the minor victim, who was one-third his age, promising her food and shelter, and exploiting her for his own financial gain.

According to the indictment, Paschal induced the minor victim to travel from another state to his Bronx residence in July 2020 with the intent to sex traffic her.

Paschal operated a prostitution business from his residence in the Bronx and directed the minor victim to engage in commercial sex, profiting from it.

The case is being prosecuted by the Office's General Crimes Unit, and Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kevin Mead, Jackie Delligatti, and Jane Kim are in charge of the prosecution.

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams praised the outstanding work of Homeland Security Investigations and thanked the courageous testimony of the victim for Paschal's just sentence.
