A key player in a multi-million dollar fentanyl trafficking ring has been sentenced to 14 years in prison, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Teal Luthy Miller. Michael Slocumb, 46, was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

The fentanyl trafficking ring, which operated in the Puget Sound region, sold millions of dollars' worth of fentanyl pills, methamphetamine, and heroin throughout the region. Slocumb was a key partner to the ring's leader, Bryson Gill.

According to records filed in the case, in the fall of 2022, Slocumb made multiple trips to Arizona to pick up and transport narcotics to the Shelton stash house. Slocumb used the stash house to manufacture fentanyl pills using two different pill presses.

On December 9, 2022, law enforcement seized over 640,000 fentanyl pills, a kilogram of fentanyl powder, 12 kilograms of methamphetamine, and $81,000 in cash from the stash house. Slocumb was also found to be in possession of 23 firearms, including a shotgun kept near the drugs and a 9mm handgun with a high-capacity magazine.

Following the stash house raid, Slocumb was heard on a wiretap discussing his plan to move drug operations to Arizona. Slocumb and Gill continued their drug trafficking in Arizona until they were arrested in March 2023.

In total, law enforcement seized over 70 firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition from Slocumb and Gill's Arizona property. Bryson Gill is scheduled to be sentenced on May 9, 2025.

Slocumb's sentence was handed down by Chief U.S. District Judge David G. Estudillo, who commented on the severity of the firearms involved in the case.
