Myles Leandre Moody, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Mississippi 2017

Gulfport, Miss. – A McClain man has been handed a lengthy prison sentence for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation. Myles Leandre Moody, 31, of McClain, Mississippi, was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for possessing with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Moody was also ordered to pay a $5,000 fine. This harsh sentence serves as a warning to those involved in such illicit activities that the law will not tolerate their presence in our communities.

According to court documents, Moody pled guilty on January 31, 2019, to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. On May 25, 2017, and on June 13, 2017, Moody sold approximately an ounce of methamphetamine to a confidential source. He was also held accountable for an additional four ounces of methamphetamine.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John Meynardie.
