Neil Streich, Importation or Transportation of Obscene Matters, Rhode Island 2023
A North Kingstown man has pleaded guilty to sending obscene materials to a person who represented they were a 10-year-old girl.
Neil Streich, 59, of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, admitted to transferring three sexually provocative videos of himself to an undercover FBI agent via Kik, a social media platform, in March 2020.
The undercover agent was part of the FBI Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force based in Pennsylvania.
Streich communicated with the undercover agent for about a week before sending the obscene materials.
At the time of Streich's arrest, FBI agents with the assistance of the North Kingstown Police Department and the United States Marshals Service executed a search of Streich's residence and seized electronic devices.
A forensic examination of the devices revealed images and videos from Streich's communications with the undercover agent.
Streich is scheduled to be sentenced on January 31, 2023.
