Nicholas Robert Davis, Attempting to Transfer Obscene Material, Florida 2024
An Ocala man has pleaded guilty to attempting to transfer obscene material to a minor, a federal offense that carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
Nicholas Robert Davis (30, Ocala) entered his guilty plea in federal court on an indictment charging him with attempting to transfer obscene material to a minor.
According to court documents, on July 24, 2024, a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agent posed as a 13-year-old girl on an online social media platform and received a message from Davis.
After learning the 'minor's' age, Davis and an undercover detective from the Marion County Sheriff's Office, also posing as the minor, had a video call during which Davis exposed his genitalia.
Davis then engaged in a sexually explicit conversation with the 'minor' and sent an explicit video himself.
This case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Marion County Sheriff's Office, with Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Janette Swartzberg handling the prosecution.
Davis's sentencing hearing is set for August 22, 2025.
This case is another example of the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse, which is being combat by the Department of Justice through its nationwide initiative, Project Safe Childhood.
