Nicole Wallace, Armed Bank Robbery, Pennsylvania 2018

Published January 8, 2020

A Pittsburgh woman has been sentenced to 4 years in federal prison for her role in a pair of armed bank robberies and an attempted armed bank robbery in the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Nicole Wallace, 35, was sentenced by Senior United States District Judge Nora Barry Fischer on October 17, 2019, to 48 months in federal prison for her crime. As part of her sentence, Wallace was also ordered to pay restitution for the money she helped steal from the bank.

According to information presented to the court, in October 2018, Wallace acted as the getaway driver for two armed bank robberies and one attempted armed bank robbery. The robberies took place at the Huntington Bank in Pittsburgh, the First National Bank in Pittsburgh, and another attempted robbery at the First National Bank in Pittsburgh on October 26. In one of those incidents, a security guard was assaulted, drew his weapon, and there was an armed stand-off with Wallace’s co-conspirator.

Assistant United States Attorney Nicole Vasquez Schmitt prosecuted this case on behalf of the government. United States Attorney Scott W. Brady commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Wallace.

The sentence was warranted based on the seriousness of the offenses and the danger they posed to the community, Judge Fischer stated.

Wallace’s crimes caused significant harm to the community, and her sentence serves as a reminder that those who engage in such violent and reckless behavior will be held accountable.

The case against Wallace is the result of a thorough investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. As a result of this investigation, Wallace is now facing the consequences of her actions.
