Odell Tindley, Methamphetamine and Cocaine Conspiracy, New York 2023

A 31-year-old Ithaca man, Odell Tindley, has been sentenced to serve 156 months (13 years) in federal prison for conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, including methamphetamine and cocaine, in Watertown, New York.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Tindley was charged with conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, including methamphetamine and cocaine, in Watertown, New York. The indictment alleged that Tindley distributed 83 grams of cocaine in Watertown on May 25, 2021, and arranged for the delivery of a large quantity of methamphetamine on the same day.

As part of his previous guilty plea, Tindley admitted to distributing the controlled substances in Watertown. Investigators with the Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force interdicted a car driven by a co-conspirator of Tindley as it entered Watertown late in the evening of May 25, 2021. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of 904 grams of methamphetamine and approximately a pound of marijuana.

Tindley was also sentenced to a 5-year term of supervised release following completion of his federal prison sentence. At the time of his arrest on his federal drug charges, Tindley was residing in Watertown as part of a mandated pre-sentence drug rehabilitation program stemming from his guilty plea to a New York State felony drug charge in Tompkins County Court.

Tindley was previously sentenced to serve two years in state prison for the New York State felony drug charge on October 6, 2022. The case was investigated by the Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force, consisting of Special Agents from U.S. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), U.S. Border Patrol Agents, Detectives from the Watertown Police Department, Detectives from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, and Investigators from the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard Southwick and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Tuck prosecuted the case.
