Orlando Rodriguez-Roman, Cocaine Trafficking, Indiana 2025

SOUTH BEND – In a shocking turn of events, 42-year-old Orlando Rodriguez-Roman of Goshen, Indiana, was convicted of three felony counts after a three-day jury trial in a United States District Court.

According to sources, Rodriguez-Roman was found guilty of attempted possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, and unlawful possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.

The case was investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service, including the USPS Forensic Laboratory Services, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with assistance from the Elkhart County Intelligence and Covert Enforcement Unit and the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Lydia T. Lucius and Katelan McKenzie Doyle.

Prosecutors claim that Rodriguez-Roman was involved in a large-scale cocaine distribution operation. It is unclear at this time if Rodriguez-Roman will face additional charges.

As of now, sentencing is scheduled for April 29, 2025. A spokesperson for the court declined to comment on the sentence or any potential penalties.

When reached for comment, a representative for the Drug Enforcement Administration said, “We are committed to keeping our communities safe from the scourge of drug trafficking. We will continue to work tirelessly to identify and prosecute those responsible for these crimes.”
