Texan Sentenced for Methamphetamine Trafficking in Kansas

A 28-year-old man from Houston, Texas, has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for driving a load of methamphetamine to Kansas.

Osiel Armando Siquerios pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kansas.

The crime occurred on February 26, 2017, when police in Lawrence, Kansas, stopped Siquerios' car on the Kansas Turnpike in Douglas County. Officers found approximately 12 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in a compartment beneath the back seat of the car.

Siquerios admitted in his plea that he was transporting the drugs to Kansas City.

U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister commended the Lawrence Police Department, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Terra Morehead for their work on the case.

The sentence was handed down by a federal judge, but the identity of the judge has not been released.

Siquerios' prison term will run concurrently with any other sentences he may be serving.
