A cocaine trafficker has been brought to justice in Alabama after a lengthy investigation.

Patricia Rodriguez, 42, of Buenaventura, Colombia, was sentenced in a federal court in Mobile, Alabama for her role in a cocaine distribution conspiracy that operated between Houston, Texas, and Mobile, Alabama.

The cocaine trafficking conspiracy involved the transportation and distribution of cocaine from Houston, Texas to Mobile, Alabama. Rodriguez was extradited from Colombia to face the federal charge and pleaded guilty in March of 2019.

United States District Court Judge Kristi K. Dubose imposed a sentence of 36 months imprisonment on Rodriguez. The judge also imposed a supervised release term of five years and a $100 special assessment. No fine was imposed.

After completing her federal sentence, Rodriguez will be turned over to a duly authorized immigration official for deportation.

The case was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security Investigations and the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office. It was prosecuted in the United States Attorney’s Office by Assistant United States Attorney Gloria Bedwell.
