Former Accountant of Adult Entertainment Businesses Pleads Guilty to Tax Fraud Conspiracy
A shocking case of tax evasion has come to light in Florida, with former accountant Paul Anthony Ruggieri of Parkland pleading guilty to a tax fraud conspiracy charge.
Ruggieri, who provided accounting and return preparation services to adult entertainment businesses owned by Anthony Andreozzi, has admitted to conspiring to unlawfully enrich Andreozzi by engaging in a scheme to evade federal income taxes.
According to court documents, Ruggieri and Andreozzi conspired to hide corporate receipts by falsifying the corporate books and records, classifying personal expenditures as business expenses. They also caused the preparation and filing of false corporate tax returns, reducing each corporation's income.
The scheme, which took place from 2006 to 2009, resulted in Andreozzi failing to report diverted corporate income on his personal tax returns, understating his total income and tax due and owing.
