Pedro Deleon Pleads Guilty to Cocaine Distribution in Massachusetts

A previously convicted felon from Springfield, Massachusetts, has pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine intended for distribution and firearms offenses. Pedro Deleon, 32, admitted to the charges earlier today.

According to the evidence, on October 22, 2024, Deleon possessed with the intent to distribute drugs and two firearms. He was previously convicted of a crime punishable for a period exceeding one year.

The charge of possession with intent to distribute cocaine provides for a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a fine of up to $1 million. The charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm provides for a sentence of up to 15 years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. The charge of possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug distribution provides for a sentence of up to life in prison, up to five years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.

U.S. District Court Judge Mark G. Mastroianni scheduled sentencing for September 25, 2025. Deleon was indicted by a federal grand jury in March 2025.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd E. Newhouse of the Springfield Branch Office is prosecuting the case. United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; Matt Lawlor, Acting U.S. Marshal for the District of Massachusetts; and Colonel Geoffrey Nobel of the Massachusetts State Police made the announcement today.

Deleon will face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for the charge of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, as well as additional time for the firearm charges. He will also face fines totaling up to $1,500,000.

The guilty plea is a significant blow to those involved in the illicit trafficking of cocaine and firearms in the region.
