Shenandoah Man Sentenced to 151 Months in Prison for Drug Trafficking

SCRANTON – A 26-year-old man has been sentenced to 151 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute controlled substances.

Pedro Villot-Ortiz, a resident of Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, was sentenced by United States District Judge Karoline Mehalchick for possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, according to the United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

According to the United States Attorney Brian D. Miller, on July 25, 2025, agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Pennsylvania State Police executed a search warrant at Villot-Ortiz's residence in Shenandoah. Investigators seized methamphetamine and cocaine that Villot-Ortiz intended to sell to his drug customers.

At the time of this conduct, Villot-Ortiz was on probation and followed two earlier drug trafficking convictions.

Villot-Ortiz's sentence was part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)—Allentown Office, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Shenandoah Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tatum R. Wilson.

As a result of the conviction, Villot-Ortiz will serve 151 months in federal prison, a sentence that reflects the seriousness of his crimes and the harm caused to our communities.
