Peter R. Galloway, Cocaine Distribution, North Carolina 2023

WILMINGTON, N.C. – A local man has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for his role in distributing cocaine base (crack) in Wilmington, NC.

According to court documents, Peter R. Galloway, 34, sold a quantity of cocaine base (crack) to a confidential informant on July 9, 2019. The next day, law enforcement in Wilmington executed a search warrant on Galloway’s residence and found more than twenty-eight (28) grams of cocaine base (crack), drug paraphernalia, a digital scale and manufacturing materials that contained cocaine residue.

The investigation into Galloway’s activities was conducted by the Wilmington Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Murphy Averitt prosecuted the case.

Robert J. Higdon, Jr., U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina, announced the sentencing following the decision by Chief U.S. District Judge Terrence W. Boyle. The court documents state that Galloway was found guilty of distributing a quantity of cocaine base (crack) and possession with the intent to distribute more than twenty-eight (28) grams of cocaine base (crack). He was sentenced to 132 months in prison.

Galloway’s sentencing marks the culmination of a lengthy investigation into his activities. He will be required to serve his 11-year prison sentence for the distribution of cocaine base (crack) and possession with the intent to distribute.
