Quindell Smallwood, Conspiracy to Distribute Heroin, Crack and Oxycodone, Maine 2015

Published February 27, 2018

A notorious Bangor man has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for his role in a major heroin, crack, and oxycodone distribution conspiracy.

Quindell Smallwood, also known as 'Queezo,' was handed the sentence yesterday by Chief Judge Nancy Torresen in U.S. District Court. The 28-year-old's crime dates back to 2013.

Prosecutors say Smallwood conspired with others to distribute the illicit substances in the Bangor area and elsewhere in Maine between January 2013 and September 2015. The operation involved obtaining drugs from out-of-state sources and transporting them to the Pine Tree State for sale to customers.

Smallwood's case is linked to another high-profile prosecution in the region. In May 2017, his co-defendant Mario Lee, also known as 'Moe,' received an 18-year sentence for his part in the conspiracy.

The investigation was led by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The case was also part of the federal government's Strategy to Combat the Opioid Epidemic.

Quindell Smallwood, 28, of Bangor, Maine, was sentenced to 20 months in prison and three years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute heroin, cocaine-based crack, and oxycodone.
