Quionte Jordan Crawford, Enticement of a Minor, West Virginia 2018
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – A Fairmont man has admitted to using his smartphone to convince minors to send explicit pictures and videos. United States Attorney Bill Powell announced that Quionte Jordan Crawford, 27, also known as “Kayla Stevens,” has pled guilty to five counts of “Enticement of a Minor.” The crimes took place from November 2017 to December 2018 in Marion County.
Crawford admitted to using his smartphone to persuade five different teenage boys to send sexual explicit pictures and videos to him. The Bridgeport Police Department investigated the case.
Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, Crawford is facing at least 10 years and up to life incarceration for each count. The actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant U.S. Attorney David J. Perri is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi presided.
The case is prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse. The initiative marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as identify and rescue victims.
