Lopez was charged in a separate indictment and was ordered to surrender to the custody of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for removal proceedings following his prison term.

The 2019 investigation revealed that Hernandez Lopez was supplying kilogram quantities of methamphetamine to Marsh and Danielson for distribution in Iowa. In total, Hernandez Lopez is responsible for the distribution of 45 kilograms of methamphetamine.

The investigation was conducted by the Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration, with the case being prosecuted by the United States Attorney's Office in the Southern District of Iowa.
