**Methamphetamine Trafficking Ring Brought Down in Council Bluffs**
A 32-year-old woman from Council Bluffs, Iowa, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for her role in a Mexico-based drug trafficking organization. Ralynn Christine Francisco was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
According to court documents, Francisco obtained multi-pound quantities of methamphetamine from codefendant Baltazar Quintero-Rodriguez in the summer of 2017. Quintero-Rodriguez was a member of a Mexico-based drug trafficking organization that supplied the methamphetamine and directed its distribution to others, including Francisco.
Francisco then redistributed the methamphetamine to customers in the local area. Investigators also discovered that she wired drug proceeds totaling $13,634 on at least 15 occasions to recipients in Mexico in furtherance of a money laundering conspiracy.
The case was primarily investigated by the Omaha Field Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigations.
