Ramon Sanchez, Cocaine Trafficking, Connecticut 2019

An Enfield man has been sentenced to 34 months in prison for his role in a cocaine trafficking operation in Hartford's South End.

Ramon SANCHEZ, also known as “Rome,” 28, was sentenced to 34 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for distributing cocaine.

Sanchez was one of two alleged members of the Almighty Latin Kings Nation (“Latin Kings”) who operated separate drug trafficking organizations that distributed fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and crack cocaine in Hartford.

The investigation, which included court-authorized wiretaps, physical surveillance, and controlled purchases of narcotics, revealed that the organizations used multiple locations to process, package, store, and distribute narcotics, and possessed firearms in furtherance of their drug trafficking activities.

Sanchez regularly supplied cocaine to one of the drug trafficking organizations, which was investigated by the FBI’s Northern Connecticut Violent Crimes Task Force and the Hartford Police Department.

Sanchez has been detained since his arrest on July 3, 2018. He pleaded guilty on August 1, 2019, to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and distribution of, cocaine.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian P. Leaming.

This matter has been investigated by the FBI’s Northern Connecticut Violent Crimes Task Force and the Hartford Police Department, which includes members of the Hartford Police Department, East Hartford Police Department, Connecticut State Police, and Connecticut Department of Correction.

The Hartford Police Department’s Vice and Narcotics Division and Shooting Task Force have provided valuable assistance to the investigation.
