Randy Eugene Doss, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, Iowa 2013
Randy Eugene Doss, a 51-year-old resident of Exira, Iowa, was sentenced to 30 months in prison for possessing a firearm after a felony conviction.
The crime, which occurred on June 12, 2013, was discovered during a search of Doss’ home in Exira, Iowa, where a loaded .410 shotgun was found by the front door of the residence.
On August 1, 2013, Doss pled guilty to being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The charge was the result of the search by law enforcement.
The investigation was conducted by the Council Bluffs, Iowa, Police Department, the United States Marshall Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The case was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
Chief Judge James E. Gritzner also ordered Doss to serve two years of supervised release when he completes his imprisonment.
Doss was sentenced on November 7, 2013, for the crime which occurred in Exira, Iowa.
