Raymond Belsan, Child Pornography Distribution, Indiana 2014

South Bend, IN – A Goshen man has pleaded guilty to distributing child pornography, announced the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Indiana. Raymond Belsan, 33, of Goshen, Indiana, entered a guilty plea before District Judge Robert Miller, Jr. to the felony offense of distribution of child pornography.

According to court documents, the case resulted from an investigation by members of the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States Secret Service. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney John Maciejczyk.

Belsan’s sentencing has been set for January 22, 2014. If convicted in court, any specific sentence to be imposed will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

"This guilty plea demonstrates our commitment to protecting children from exploitation and abuse," said the U.S. Attorney. "We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to identify and prosecute those who engage in these heinous crimes."

In a separate case, a South Bend woman pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact to bank robbery. Kendra Winston, 24, of South Bend, Indiana, entered a guilty plea before Magistrate Judge Christopher Nuechterlein to the felony offense of being an accessory after the fact to bank robbery.

According to court documents, the charge was filed as a result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jesse Barrett. Sentencing has been set for January 16, 2014. If convicted in court, any specific sentence to be imposed will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

In yet another case, a Bremen man was sentenced to 70 months imprisonment and 4 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to possession with the intent to distribute cocaine. Dayman Olivares, 34, of Bremen, Indiana, was sentenced by District Judge Robert Miller, Jr. to 70 months imprisonment and 4 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to the felony offense of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.

According to documents filed in this case, Olivares possessed cocaine and heroin which he intended to sell to a confidential informant. He arrived at the site of the drug deal with his girlfriend and two young children in the car. The case was the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney William Grimmer.
