Raymond Blue Arm, Assaulting a Federal Officer, North Dakota 2013

BISMARCK, ND - Raymond Blue Arm, 40, of Cannon Ball, N.D., was sentenced to 10 months in federal prison for assaulting a federal officer on July 4, 2012.

According to U.S. Attorney Timothy Q. Purdon, Raymond Blue Arm pleaded guilty to the charge on November 14, 2012.

Judge Daniel L. Hovland sentenced Blue Arm to 10 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release. Blue Arm was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Crime Victim’s Fund.

On July 4, 2012, at Prairie Knights Casino, Blue Arm was harassing patrons and was asked to leave, but he refused. When law enforcement officers arrived, Blue Arm used a back pack to hit one of the officers in the side.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Standing Rock Police Department, with the assistance of the Standing Rock Tribal Prosecutor's Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Gary Delorme prosecuted the case.
