Raymond Comegys, Crack Cocaine Distribution, Maryland 2024

Baltimore, Maryland — In a major blow to the city's narcotics trade, 31-year-old Raymond Comegys has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for his role in a crack cocaine distribution ring.

According to court documents, Comegys, along with co-defendant Stephon Lowery, operated a street-level drug shop in the southwest area of Baltimore City that sold crack cocaine daily to customers from December 2013 through May 2014.

As part of the conspiracy, Comegys and his accomplices ordered crack cocaine from suppliers in quantities up to 28 grams, which they then sold in user-quantity amounts to street-level users.

On April 4, 2014, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Comegys' residence in Baltimore, recovering 16 vials containing crack cocaine, a sandwich bag containing approximately 6.88 grams of cocaine, and other evidence of the conspiracy.

Comegys admitted to distributing over 112 grams of crack cocaine during the course of the conspiracy.

As a result of the investigation, nine defendants, including Comegys, have been convicted for their participation in the conspiracy. Stephon Lowery, age 30, of Baltimore, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, while four other co-defendants received sentences ranging from 36 to 78 months. The remaining three defendants are awaiting sentencing.

The investigation was a joint effort between the FBI, Baltimore Police Department, and Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office. United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended the agencies for their work in bringing Comegys to justice.

Assistant United States Attorneys Seema Mittal and Leo J. Wise prosecuted the case.
