Ricardo Trejo-Martinez, Assault on Federal Officer, Georgia 2025

Published June 27, 2025

Two men, Ricardo Trejo-Martinez and Hector Beltran-Ledesma, both from Mexico, have been charged with assaulting federal deportation officers in Georgia.

According to the U.S. Attorney's office, the charges arise from two separate incidents.

Ricardo Trejo-Martinez, a Mexican national, was charged with assault after allegedly shoving a deportation officer into the highway as vehicles passed on May 20, 2025, in Commerce, Georgia.

Hector Beltran-Ledesma, also a Mexican national, was charged with assault and re-entering the United States after being previously deported.

Beltran-Ledesma allegedly attempted to flee upon seeing the officers and forcibly resisted arrest on June 21, 2025, in Roswell, Georgia.

The U.S. Attorney's office said that the cases are part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to repel the invasion of illegal immigration.

The defendants are presumed innocent of the charges and will face trial.

Members of the public are reminded that the complaints only contain charges and it will be the government's burden to prove the defendants' guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.
