A second-time offender who downloaded thousands of images and videos of children under 18 engaging in sex acts has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison. Richard Crisman, 39, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was found guilty of possession of child pornography on April 12, 2023.
According to court documents, on April 7, 2021, US Probation Officer conducted a routine field visit to Crisman’s residence in Rio Rancho and discovered an unauthorized USB device attached to his computer. The device revealed thousands of images and videos of children under the age of 18 engaging in sex acts. When questioned, Crisman admitted to downloading the Child Sexual Abuse Material.
This is Crisman’s second conviction for possession of child pornography. He previously pled guilty to receipt of a visual depiction of minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct on February 24, 2012, and was sentenced to 97 months in federal prison followed by 25 years of supervised release.
Assistant United States Attorney Anderson C. Hatfield is prosecuting the case, which was investigated by the FBI Albuquerque Field Office. Upon his release from prison, Crisman will be subject to lifetime supervised release.
