MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – In a shocking turn of events, Robert Eric Wadkins, a 43-year-old resident of Antlers, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 293 months in prison for Aggravated Sexual Abuse in Indian Country.

The charges against Wadkins arose from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Department, and the Pushmataha County Sheriff’s Office.

According to investigators, on June 5, 2017, Wadkins physically assaulted and sexually assaulted the victim. The crime occurred in Choctaw and Pushmataha Counties, within the boundaries of the Choctaw Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

On January 12, 2023, Wadkins pleaded guilty to the charge. The Honorable John F. Heil, III, U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the hearing.

Assistant United States Attorney Sarah McAmis represented the United States. Wadkins will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence of incarceration.
