Robert L. Gregory, Conspiracy to Distribute Controlled Substances, West Virginia 2020
A Columbus man has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for his role in a conspiracy to distribute controlled substances in West Virginia.
Robert L. Gregory, 39, pleaded guilty in October 2020 to one count of Conspiracy to Distribute and to Possess with the Intent to Distribute Controlled Substances, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of West Virginia.
Gregory admitted to working with others to distribute methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, and cocaine base in Wetzel County and other parts of West Virginia, Ohio, Georgia, and elsewhere from 2016 to 2018.
The case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation, which targets high-level drug traffickers, money launderers, gangs, and transnational criminal organizations.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins prosecuted the case on behalf of the government, with assistance from the Columbus, Ohio, Police Department Gang Crimes Unit.
The U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided over the case.
Gregory was sentenced to 210 months of incarceration, the maximum penalty for the crime.
