Heroin Distribution Lands Keyser Resident Behind Bars

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – In a significant blow to the local heroin trade, Robert Lee Sutter, IV, of Keyser, West Virginia, has been sentenced to 10 months incarceration for distributing heroin.

According to prosecutors, Sutter, age 31, pled guilty to one count of 'Conspiracy to Distribute Heroin' in October 2017. Sutter admitted to conspiring with others to distribute heroin in Mineral County and elsewhere from November 2010 to September 2016.

The investigation, led by the Potomac Highlands Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, uncovered a web of heroin distribution that had been operating in the area for years. Sutter's guilty plea marked a significant milestone in the effort to dismantle this illicit operation.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Omps-Botteicher prosecuted the case on behalf of the government, securing a conviction that sends a strong message to those involved in the heroin trade.

Chief U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh presided over the case, ensuring that justice was served in this matter. The 10-month sentence handed down to Sutter is a testament to the severity of the charges and the seriousness with which the courts approach heroin distribution.

The case serves as a reminder of the devastating impact of heroin on communities and the importance of continued efforts to combat this scourge. As the Grimy Times continues to shine a light on these critical issues, we remain committed to holding those responsible accountable for their actions.
