Robert Poobar Daniels, Crack Cocaine Distribution, New York 2016

A 42-year-old Schenectady man has pleaded guilty to distributing crack cocaine, announced United States Attorney Richard S. Hartunian and Andrew W. Vale, Special Agent in Charge of the Albany Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Robert 'Poobar' Daniels, 42, of Schenectady, New York, admitted to selling crack cocaine directly and overseeing the distribution of the illicit substance by another individual.

The guilty plea came after a thorough investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the New York State Police, and the Schenectady Police Department, in connection with the Capital District Safe Streets Gang Task Force.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Wayne A. Myers.

At sentencing on April 15, 2016, in Albany, New York, Daniels faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years, a fine of $1,000,000, and a term of supervised release of up to life.

Daniels was investigated for his involvement in the distribution of crack cocaine in the Schenectady area.

The investigation was a collaborative effort between law enforcement agencies to combat the sale of illicit substances in the community.
