Threats and Harassment Weren't Enough: New York Man Charged in Pennsylvania for Threats Against Former Business Partner
A Westchester County, New York man is facing federal charges for a series of threatening emails sent to his former business partners, according to a recent indictment in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Roger Eichenholtz, 70, allegedly sent a number of harassing emails after losing civil litigation over a business deal.
The emails, which were sent between 2013, included one particularly menacing message that threatened civil and criminal litigation against the defendants, with a chilling twist: Eichenholtz claimed to have access to a 'Side Bolt 45-cal with 6 silver bullets that have your name on them.'
According to the indictment, the threats were made with the intention of intimidating the former business partners and further litigation was the end goal. The investigation was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michael L. Levy.
As a result of the indictment, Eichenholtz faces a maximum possible sentence of five years in prison, three years of supervised release, a $250,000 fine, and a $100 special assessment. The case highlights the importance of taking threats seriously and the consequences of engaging in such behavior.
