Roland Bennett Rhodes, III, Child Exploitation, Pennsylvania 2024
SCRANTON, Pennsylvania - A Wilkes-Barre man has been sentenced to 72 months in prison for his involvement in a child exploitation crime.
56-year-old Roland Bennett Rhodes, III was sentenced by United States District Judge Julia K. Munley for his crime of receipt of child pornography.
According to the United States Attorney Brian D. Miller, on October 24, 2024, FBI agents served a federal search warrant at Rhodes' residence in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Pursuant to the warrant, agents seized and later analyzed nineteen electronic devices, which included laptops, hard drives, thumb drives, and a cellular telephone.
The forensic analysis uncovered approximately 554 images and 192 videos of child pornography on Rhodes' devices, showing that he received images of child pornography on multiple occasions in 2024.
FBI - Philadelphia Division, Scranton conducted the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Tatum Wilson prosecuted the case.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
