Ronnie Gordon, Crack Distribution, Connecticut 2018
A New Haven man has been sentenced to 51 months in federal prison for his role in distributing crack cocaine in the city.
Ronnie Gordon, 39, also known as “Pop,” was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Vanessa L. Bryant in Hartford after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute, and to possess with intent to distribute, cocaine base (“crack”).
The investigation into Gordon's activities was led by the FBI's New Haven Safe Streets/Gang Task Force, which included members from the New Haven Police Department, Milford Police Department, West Haven Police Department, and Connecticut Department of Correction.
The investigation revealed that Gordon was part of a larger drug trafficking organization headed by Jermayne Butler, who was also convicted and sentenced to 78 months in prison on August 10, 2020.
Gordon was arrested on February 6, 2018, and has been detained since then. A grand jury in New Haven returned a 30-count indictment charging Butler, Gordon, and 17 other individuals with various offenses on February 8, 2018.
Gordon's criminal history includes multiple state convictions for drug, assault, and firearms offenses. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Patrick F. Caruso and David C. Nelson.
The New Haven man's sentence is a result of his guilty plea and cooperation with investigators. Gordon will serve 51 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
