A Mandan, North Dakota, man has been sentenced for Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child and Aggravated Incest.

Ronnie White Mountain, age 51, was found guilty by a jury trial on September 5, 2019, and was sentenced on January 9, 2020 by U.S. District Judge Charles B. Kornmann.

The conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred between January 2010 and December 2012, when White Mountain was visiting relatives in McLaughlin, South Dakota, on the Standing Rock Reservation.

According to the investigation, White Mountain knowingly engaged in a sexual act with a minor victim who had not attained the age of 12 years old after a night of drinking.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Kirsten Jasper prosecuting the case.

White Mountain was sentenced to 360 months in federal prison, followed by 5 years of supervised release, and a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.

White Mountain was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
