Sioux Falls Man Sentenced for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender

In a recent development, Royce Loudner, age 46, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was found guilty of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. The U.S. Attorney, Brendan V. Johnson, announced this development, marking a significant milestone in the case.

Loudner, a previously convicted sex offender, is required to register with the relevant authorities. However, he failed to update his registration status or register a new address following his discharge from Glory House on April 8, 2011. During this period, he also failed to update his sex offender registration status or register a new address as required by conditions of his supervised release and federal law.

The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Marshal's Office, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan N. Dilges handling the prosecution. Loudner was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal following his sentencing.

On April 18, 2011, Loudner returned to Glory House, but he did not comply with the necessary registration procedures. This failure to register as a sex offender has now led to his sentencing.

Loudner was sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment, which will be served concurrently with his prior sentence. Additionally, he was sentenced to 5 years of supervised release and $100 to the Victim Assistance Fund.
