Rubin Perry, Child Pornography, Maine 2024

A Lubec man has been accused of possessing child pornography, according to a guilty plea entered in federal court in Bangor.

Rubin Perry, 34, pleaded guilty today to possessing child pornography, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Donald E. Clark.

The Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit received information in 2018 that a Twitter user was uploading and storing images and videos of child pornography. Investigators determined that the Twitter account was associated with the address of Rubin Perry in Lubec.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for the address and interviewed Perry while executing the warrant. He admitted to having a problem with child pornography and not knowing how to stop, as well as having child pornography on his cell phone.

Perry's cell phone was later found to contain multiple images of child pornography.

If Perry is found to have a qualifying prior conviction, he faces a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and not less than five years of supervised release.

Rubin Perry, a 34-year-old from Lubec, Maine, pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography in federal court in Bangor.

The Homeland Security Investigations and the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit investigated the case.

Perry will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
